A Heartwarming Session with Ellen and Her Beloved Dog, Decaf

Recently, I had the pleasure of working with Ellen, who reached out to me for a special session with her elderly dog, Decaf. As a dog mom myself to a wonderful rescue Labrador Retriever named Frank, I understand how deeply our pets become part of the family. Capturing these moments, especially as our furry friends age, is incredibly meaningful.
Ellen also wanted to include some beautiful portraits of herself in the session, which turned out to be a fantastic idea. We captured some lovely shots of Ellen alone, and they make perfect updates for her social media profiles—so much so that she ended up with a new profile picture!
Ellen’s backyard, like many in Southwest Florida subdivisions, backs up to a picturesque golf course. It’s her happy place, filled with memories, and she wanted to capture that serene setting in her photos. The blend of natural beauty and the comfort of home made it the perfect spot for this heartfelt session.
Decaf was an absolute joy to work with! Despite her age, she was spry and full of life. We had quite the chuckle over how much she loves her treats. My assistant was on hand to hold treats above my head, ensuring Decaf looked right at the camera, and she nailed it every time. It was clear that Decaf is not just a pet but a cherished member of Ellen’s family.
